For pilgrims from Blackburn, Darwen and East Lancashire
Umrah Packages from Blackburn
Blackburn has no airport of its own, but Manchester’s direct flights to Jeddah are about an hour away. Our team in Makkah arranges your hotels, transfers and ziyarat around your flight times.
Umrah from Blackburn, Arranged in Saudi Arabia
Our team is based in Makkah, and we arrange the Saudi side of your Umrah: hotels in Makkah and Madinah, airport transfers, transport between the two holy cities, ziyarat and practical guidance.
Our packages cover your arrangements in Saudi Arabia: hotels, transport, ziyarat and guidance. Most UK pilgrims book their own flights, and we plan everything around their arrival and departure times. If you would like help with flight tickets, ask us on WhatsApp.
We don’t have an office in Blackburn. Families from Audley, Bastwell, Whalley Range, Darwen and towns such as Accrington and Burnley plan with us directly over WhatsApp or by email.
From Blackburn and across Lancashire, most families want one team to handle every journey in Saudi Arabia. That covers your Jeddah Airport pickup to Makkah and your Makkah to Madinah transfer, arranged in the same WhatsApp chat.
Getting to the Airport from Blackburn
Most pilgrims fly into Jeddah, the closest major airport to Makkah, while some begin their trip in Madinah.
- Manchester Airport (MAN): the usual choice, about an hour by road via the motorway network, or by train via Manchester. It has direct flights to Jeddah. For terminals, drop-off and prayer rooms, see our Manchester Umrah page.
- Liverpool (LPL) and Leeds Bradford (LBA): sometimes worth comparing for fares, but flights to Saudi Arabia from both involve a connection.
- Check before you book: routes and schedules change, so check the current options when you book.
- Ihram on the plane: If you are travelling to Jeddah for Umrah, make sure you are in ihram before your flight crosses the miqat. The timing depends on your route, so check with your airline and ask a qualified scholar if you are unsure. Do not assume you can wait until landing in Jeddah. See our guide to Umrah rituals and duas for more on the miqat and ihram. For any other religious question, message us on WhatsApp, even if you are not booking with us. We reply individually, in the light of the Quran and Sunnah, following Hanafi fiqh.
Early Flights and the Road to Manchester
Morning departures from Manchester can mean leaving Blackburn in the middle of the night, when trains are limited. Many families arrange a lift or a car together, and allow extra time on the motorway in school holidays.
Once you land, our side begins. Send us your flight number and landing time, and we plan your transfer to your hotel around it. If your flight is delayed, message us on WhatsApp as soon as you know and we will rearrange your pickup.

Blackburn and Lancashire School Dates
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council sets its own term dates, which can differ from Lancashire County Council schools in Accrington, Burnley or Preston. Academies may set their own too. If your family has children at schools in different areas, check each one before choosing dates. Christmas, Easter and the half-terms book up early, especially near Ramadan.
For 2026–27, the council’s holiday pattern for community schools has February half-term from 15 to 19 February 2027 and an Easter break from 26 March to 9 April 2027. Ramadan is expected to begin around 8 February, with Eid al-Fitr in Saudi Arabia expected around 9 or 10 March, depending on the moon sighting, so February half-term falls during Ramadan, while the Easter break begins just over two weeks after Eid. See Blackburn with Darwen Council’s school holidays.

Groups from East Lancashire
Mosque and family groups from Blackburn often travel together on the same Manchester flight. Send us the flight details and group size, and we arrange airport transfers, shared hotels, transport and ziyarat in one quote. If anyone flies from another airport, we arrange their transfer separately. See our group Umrah packages.
Many groups from Blackburn include parents and grandparents. Tell us who needs extra help when you enquire, and we can suggest hotels closer to the Haram and arrange private transport. Book any airport wheelchair assistance with your airline well before you fly, and see our guide to Umrah for elderly pilgrims.
We also arrange Umrah for pilgrims from other UK cities, including Birmingham, Manchester, Bradford, London, Leicester and Glasgow. For an overview, see our Umrah packages from the UK.
Visa Information
Before you book, check which visa route applies to you. Requirements depend on your nationality and where you live, and they can change, so always confirm the latest information through official Saudi sources before you travel. For more detail on the official routes, see our Umrah visa guide.

Umrah from Blackburn FAQs
Common questions from pilgrims travelling from Blackburn.
Do you have an office in Blackburn?
No. Our team is based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. We arrange everything with you directly by WhatsApp or email.
Do your Umrah packages include flights from Blackburn?
Our packages cover your arrangements in Saudi Arabia: hotels, transport, ziyarat and guidance. Most UK pilgrims book their own flights, and we plan everything around their arrival and departure times. If you would like help with flight tickets, ask us on WhatsApp.
Should I fly from Manchester or Liverpool?
Manchester is usually simplest because it has direct flights to Jeddah. Liverpool means a connection, but can be worth comparing for fares. We arrange your transfers once you land either way.
Do you arrange transport from Blackburn to Manchester Airport?
No. Our services start in Saudi Arabia. You make your own way to your UK airport, and we take over from the moment you land.
Our parents live in Blackburn but hold Indian passports. Can they travel with us?
Yes. We can help with their Umrah visas and apply on their behalf if you would like. The visa route for an Indian passport can differ from a British one, even for someone who lives in the UK, so tell us each traveller’s nationality and UK residence status when you enquire, and start early. Visa decisions are made by the Saudi authorities.
Can families from Blackburn and nearby towns travel as one group?
Yes. Tell us how many travellers there are and which flights they are on, and we will prepare one quote for the whole group.
Do I have to pay before I travel?
For most services, such as transport and ziyarat, no. You pay when the service starts or when you arrive in Makkah, in cash in any currency, or by bank transfer if you prefer. Some hotel bookings need an advance payment, and we tell you in your quote if yours does. If anyone asks you for money in our name, check with us first on our WhatsApp number.
How will I receive my quote?
We normally send quotes via WhatsApp, or by email at makahmadina591@gmail.com if needed.
