Umrah from Australia · Team based in Makkah

Umrah Packages from Australia, Ready for You on Arrival

There are no direct flights from Australia, so most pilgrims arrive after a long journey with a stopover. Our team in Makkah makes the Saudi side simple: airport pickup, hotels, Makkah–Madinah transport and Ziyarat, planned around your flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane or Adelaide.

  • ✓Rest comes first – after one of the longest journeys to Umrah, we meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. There is no walk-in office; everything is arranged on WhatsApp.
  • ✓Your dates, your pace – no fixed packages or price list. Spend as many days in Makkah and Madinah as you need, and the quote follows your plan.
  • ✓Message us in your evening – Saudi Arabia is 5 to 8 hours behind Australia, so a message sent in your evening reaches us during our working day.

We are a Saudi-based team, not an Australian travel agency. Quotes are valid for 3 days, subject to availability. No deposit for transport or Ziyarat; pay in cash in any currency, including Australian dollars, on arrival.

Umrah from Australia, Arranged in Saudi Arabia

Our team is based in Makkah, and we arrange the Saudi side of your Umrah: hotels in Makkah and Madinah, airport transfers, transport between the two holy cities, ziyarat and practical guidance.

Flights can be included in your package on request, or you can book your flights from Australia yourself and we plan everything else around your arrival and departure times. We are not an Australian travel agency and we don’t have an office in Australia. Everything is arranged with you directly over WhatsApp or by email, from your first enquiry to support during your trip.

Flying to Saudi Arabia from Australia

Most pilgrims from Australia fly into Jeddah, the closest major airport to Makkah, while some begin their trip in Madinah.

  • No direct flights: there are currently no direct flights between Australia and Saudi Arabia, so pilgrims usually travel with one stop via a connecting airport in the Middle East or Asia. This is one of the longest journeys to Umrah, so allow for it when planning your first days.
  • Check before you book: routes and schedules change, so check the current options when you book.
  • Ihram on a connecting journey: you need to be in ihram before the plane crosses the miqat on the way to Jeddah. On a long journey with a stopover, many pilgrims change into ihram clothing at the connecting airport before the final flight and make their intention on the plane. See our guide to Umrah rituals and duas for more on the miqat and ihram.
  • Allow for the time difference: Australia is between five and eight hours ahead of Saudi Arabia, depending on your state and the time of year. Perth is five hours ahead, while Sydney and Melbourne are seven or eight hours ahead. Many pilgrims plan a rest before starting their Umrah.

Once you know your flight times, share them with us and we will arrange your transfer from the airport to your hotel.

Umrah from Sydney

Pilgrims from across Greater Sydney, including Western Sydney, usually fly from Sydney Airport (SYD) with one stop on the way to Jeddah or Madinah. We plan your hotels, transfers and ziyarat in Saudi Arabia around your flights, so your Umrah from Sydney fits your dates rather than a fixed itinerary.

Families, friends and mosque or community groups from Sydney can be arranged in one quote. Tell us how many people are travelling and the rooms you need, and we will plan around your group.

Umrah from Melbourne

Pilgrims from Melbourne and across Victoria usually fly from Melbourne Airport (MEL) with one stop on the way to Saudi Arabia. Because the journey is long, many plan a quieter first day in Makkah before performing Umrah, especially when travelling with children or elderly relatives. Tell us your flight times and we will arrange your transfer and hotels around them, so your Umrah from Melbourne starts as smoothly as possible.

Umrah from Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide

Perth

Perth is the closest major Australian city to the Middle East, so journey times from Perth Airport (PER) are usually shorter than from the east coast. Umrah packages from Perth are planned in the same way as from anywhere else in Australia: we can arrange your flights on request or you can book them yourself, and we arrange your hotels, transfers and ziyarat in Saudi Arabia around them.

Brisbane

Pilgrims from Brisbane and South East Queensland usually fly from Brisbane Airport (BNE) with one stop. Share your flight details with us and we will plan your arrangements around your arrival and departure times.

Adelaide

Pilgrims from Adelaide usually fly from Adelaide Airport (ADL), often connecting through another airport on the way. We arrange your stay in Makkah and Madinah, your transfers and your ziyarat around whichever route you choose.

Private, Family and Ramadan Umrah from Australia

Private and Tailor-Made Umrah

Because every arrangement is planned around you, any Umrah package from Australia can be private and tailor-made. You choose the hotels, the length of your stay in Makkah and Madinah, private or shared transport, and whether to add ziyarat.

Family Umrah from Australia

We arrange Umrah for families with children and elderly relatives, with rooms and transport to suit your family. Many families travel during the school holidays, which fall between terms: the long summer break over December and January, and shorter breaks around April, July and September to October. Dates differ between states, so check your state’s school calendar before you plan.

Ramadan Umrah from Australia

Ramadan is the busiest time of year in Makkah and Madinah, and hotels near the Haram book up early. If you are planning Umrah in Ramadan, contact us as early as you can. For more on seasons and crowds, see our guide to the best time for Umrah.

What Affects the Cost of Umrah from Australia?

We don’t publish fixed prices, because the cost of Umrah from Australia depends on several things:

  • your travel dates, with Ramadan and school holidays usually costing more
  • the hotels you choose in Makkah and Madinah, and how close they are to the Haram
  • the number of travellers and the room types you need
  • the type of transport and whether you add ziyarat
  • how long you stay

If you are working to a budget, we can suggest budget-friendly options such as triple or quad rooms, or hotels further from the Haram. If you would like us to arrange your flights, we can add them to your quote; otherwise you book them yourself. Share your plans with us and we will send you a quote for the services you need, per person or for your whole family.

Visa Information

Before you book, check which visa route applies to you. Requirements depend on your nationality and where you live, and they can change, so always confirm the latest information through official Saudi sources before you travel. Our Umrah visa guide includes a section of FAQs for travellers from Australia. Makkahmadina does not issue visas, but we can apply for your visa on your behalf if you would like help, or you can apply yourself online.

Tell us on WhatsApp at least 24 hours before the service. Makkahmadina does not charge its own cancellation fee. Hotel bookings follow the hotel’s own cancellation rules, and any deduction the hotel makes is passed on.

About 450 km by road, which usually takes 4 to 5 hours. On the way from Madinah to Makkah, the vehicle can stop at Miqat Dhul Hulayfah (Abyar Ali) so you can enter ihram.
